Coming of Age as a Worker

As a governess, Jane found herself lonely at times because she felt like she had no one to confide in.

Only when invited would Jane be able to enter into the drawing room.

Foundlings had to grow up too quickly, because they had to take care of themselves, much like Jane had to.

Ophelia was betrayed by someone she loved, like Jane Eyre was betrayed by Mr. Rochester.

This woman is in despair, because she has done something wrong. Jane experienced this same sort of agony when she had to leave Rochester.

  1. Your analogies to Jane and Mr. Rochester were most exquisite, ya?

  2. I like how you focused on the facts of the museums through the quotes and not just their appearances. It helps to put what we learned into perspective because we can take what we saw at the museum and apply them to the quotes of the people who actually experienced stuff during those times.
